Jo Beverley novella wins Sapphire Award for SF Romance
Second place in the short-fiction category went to “Winterfair Gifts” by Lois McMaster Bujold, also from Irresistible Forces; third place went to “The Night Owl” by Emma Holly, from Hot Blooded.

Lynda Williams book to launch at Westercon

Her review of A Girl Named Sugar by Emily Pohl-Weary recently appeared in The Peterborough Examiner; recent non-fiction sales include an essay on on Nalo Hopkinson’s Salt Roads, Maya Deren’s Divine Horsemen, Wade Davis’s The Serpent And The Rainbow, Angela Carter’s Black Venus, Les Fleurs du Mal by Charles Baudelaire and The Salt Eaters by Toni Cade Bambara to New York Review of Science Fiction and, also to NYRSF, an essay on Elizabeth Vonarburg’s Dreams Of The Sea, Ursula Leguin’s The Telling and Kathleen Ann Goonan’s (and the author’s) memoirs of travel to Kauai, in Hawaii.

La nouvelle "Les outils de l'ombre" de Jean-Louis Trudel est parue dans Solaris 154. Il a aussi vendu les droits de réimpression de sa nouvelle "Des anges sont tombés" au nouvel éditeur français Les Moutons électriques pour une anthologie intitulée Les Anges électriques, à paraître en octobre. Sa traduction de la nouvelle "Le temps, en s'évaporant..." de Jean-Claude Dunyach paraîtra dans l'anthologie Year's Best SF 10 (Eos) réunie par David G.
